Comment: Valued Opinions (UK) – (www.valuedopinions.co.uk)
Hi,
Valued Opinions is part of Research Now Ltd. a
London-based marketing research company, which along
with Peanut Labs and e-miles are member companies of
the e-Rewards, Inc group founded in 1999 in Plano,
Texas.
Valued Opinions has a claimed worldwide membership of
over 400,000 and offers survey services in 36
countries, so it certainly is not a small concern.
This review applies to the United Kingdom site of
Valued Opinions (UK) – (www.valuedopinions.co.uk)
Terms and Conditions and rewards may be different for
Valued Opinions sites serving other countries.
Visiting www.valuedopinions.co.uk home page presents me
with a very colourful, if not over colourful, if not
gaudy home page, with, amongst other colours, lots of
bright lime green and bright magenta. I cannot help
getting the impression that whoever designed this
website must have been suffering from a colour vision
problem or was using a badly adjusted computer.
Subsequent exploration reveals that these colours, and
more, are retained throughout the site and after a
while the colours become a little overpowering
particularly when trying to read low-contrast text
overlaid onto the colours.
However, this is not how it has always been; in April
2011 the website underwent a complete revamp,
relinquishing its very pleasing, formal and sedate
format in favour of a website lavishly adorned with
eye-boggling, gaudy colours. Despite this, the site has
been restructured and has seen improvements in size,
design, content and functionality.
An animated panel on the home page presents, in vivid
colours, many reasons for joining Valued Opinions –
below this I see a mini-poll to participate in and an
opportunity to view member’s testimonials.
A banner menu near the top of the home page offers the
following selection:-
“About” – provides comprehensive information in several
sections about the Community, the Service, Membership
and their Charter, each provides a link to more
detailed information,
“Earn” – advises me how taking surveys can earn me
rewards and how these can be spent – more about this
later,
“Rewards” – provides information about how and what I
can claim,
“News” – clicking this link takes me to several pages
of interesting but arbitrary news – not necessarily
related to Valued Opinions,
“Sign up TODAY” – this button takes me to the
registration page where, if I am over 16 years old, I
am taken through the process of entering personal
information and allows me to complete my profiles –
more of this soon.
New joiners are entered into a quarterly competition to
win a prize which for May 2011 was an iPad 2.
When I sign in to my account I am taken to my
“Dashboard”, here I am presented with a sub-menu just
below the banner described above which has the
following selections:-
“Dashboard” – provides me with my current rewards
balance, a list of my currently available surveys, a
summary of the status of my personal profiles and links
to other parts of the site. From here I can access and
edit my profiles under their different headings of
“More about me”, Sports & Leisure”, “Automotive” and
“Healthcare”,
“Personal Profile” – allows me to keep my home address,
email address etc up to date,
“Available Surveys” – a list of surveys currently
available for me to take, plus links to information
about some of Valued Opinions partners,
“Rewards Statement” – a very important part of my
member area where historical survey and rewards
information by transaction is maintained. Here I see a
list of surveys I have already completed and rewards I
have redeemed. This list comprises the date of the
transaction, a description of the Survey or the
redemption followed by three columns for “Credit”,
“Debit” and “Balance” where the monetary value of the
transaction and the resulting balance are contained.
The unique reference number contained within each email
invitation is not included here – but see
“Participation History” below.
“Claim Rewards” – where I can use the three-step
redemption process to claim my rewards – very well
explained and easy to follow,
“Participation History” – another important part of my
member area. Here I see a comprehensive list of surveys
that I have completed, not qualified for, or didn’t
complete for whatever reason. Information included here
is the topic of the survey, the date, the result of the
survey and, at last, that all-important unique
reference number.
Great! - Everything necessary to reconcile my own
record of surveys I have taken against the history
maintained on the website. To facilitate viewing,
information can be listed a month at a time and also
filtered by the category or topic of the survey.
“Invited Friends History” – where I see the current
balance earned by introducing friends to Valued
Opinions. I am allowed to introduce up to 5 new members
per three month period,
“Unsubscribe” – if I ever want to.
A panel at the bottom of each page of the site contains
a list of quick links to many of the often used pages
of the site including those described above and others
including FAQs, How to become an Affiliate, T&Cs, and
contact information which itself includes an email
facility and even a telephone number.
One annoying point about this website – when logging
into the site I am able to tick a box “Keep me logged
in” where I enter my email address and password –
despite ticking this box, after a few minutes
inactivity I find I have been logged out and have to
log in again.
Members can also use an “App.” for Android mobiles
which allows them to do surveys “on the move”; links
are provided on various pages on the website to go to
the “Apps Store” to download the App.
Surveys completed on an Android mobile are different
from the usual Valued Opinions surveys on a computer –
and are available only through the App. and won’t
replicate the usual online surveys received via the
email inbox.
I cannot comment on the functionality of the App.
because I do not possess an Android mobile, however, in
the “Apps Store”, reading the user reviews does not
instil confidence, with reviewers describing the App as
“Very Poor”, “Utter Garbage”, “Pointless App”, indeed
24 out of 61 reviewers awarded the App. only one Star
out of a possible five stars whilst only 14 reviewers
awarded five stars.
The most common complaint it seems is that the App.
shows the same survey over and over again – even when
the survey has been completed. Knowing how an App.
designed for a specific Operating System such as
Android, can function differently between different
brands of ‘phone and even between different models of
‘phone for the same brand, I am not surprised at these
very varied reviews.
Not very encouraging, but my own experience of
conducting surveys on my mobile – is that I would
rather not bother.
Now for the important stuff – surveys and rewards.
As well as available surveys being listed on the
website, I also receive survey invitations via email
which, although containing the same gaudy colours as
the website, are attractive, clear and easy to read.
The survey details provided are the reward, the
estimated completion time and the topic of the survey.
A unique survey reference is included but this appears
only in the subject line of the email.
Excellent! – All the information I need to keep track
of my surveys and payments.
One thing I particularly like about Valued Opinions
surveys is that they nearly always incorporate a
“Progress Bar” which displays on each page how much of
the survey has been completed - I wish all survey sites
would use these.
As seasoned survey takers will know, some surveys tend
to go on way beyond the estimated completion time
leaving the survey taker wondering if the survey will
ever end. Seeing a progress bar on the page instils a
little more confidence that the survey does have an
end. Having said that, we must also be aware that some
progress bars are not too accurate – I am sure that
most survey takers have experienced the “elasticated”
progress bar, which, as you progress through the survey
stretches towards the finish mark, then mysteriously
bounces back to around half way only to once again
start its journey toward the finish marker.
I earn rewards as cash amounts - each clearly displayed
in the email invitation. The rewards are very
consistent indeed usually offering 0.25GBP per 5
minutes of survey time although this can vary depending
upon the survey.
Typical earnings can be seen from some of my past
examples and shows that Valued Opinions is only a
medium earner:-
5 minutes = 0.25GBP
12 minutes = 0.75GBP
20 minutes = 1.00GBP
26 minutes = 1.50GBP
60 minutes = 7.00GBP
The redemption threshold is 10.00GBP and this can be
donated to a charity or redeemed for high street
vouchers including Tesco, HMV, Argos, Ocado, Boots and
M&S - so everyone should be happy with a voucher.
Delivery is usually within four weeks.
Occasionally, Valued Opinions offers members the
opportunity to take part in a special study. For
example, I was invited to take part in a survey
spanning 39 weeks, where I was required to complete an
introductory survey for which I received a 1.00GBP
reward. Then I was asked to maintain a Daily Diary of
my alcohol consumption for the next 39 weeks, at the
end of which I would receive 30.00GBP. And a final
survey for 1.00GBP.
The Terms and Conditions of the survey needed to be
read very carefully. Although missing a few days was
allowed, missing too many days resulted in automatic
rejection from the survey.
Now, in common with other survey takers, I am often a
little sceptical about starting long surveys, I am
always aware of the possibility that something
(intentional or otherwise) will go wrong before I have
finished the survey.
I have read reviews from other survey enthusiasts who
have taken long surveys lasting between one and two
hours only to have the survey crash or even be screened
out just before the end of the survey.
Indeed I have experienced this myself – several times.
This can be very demoralising and there can be no
excuse for this and only leaves me with the thought
that the problem was programmed into the survey and
that the survey must have been a scam in the first
place.
It is very easy for unscrupulous survey companies to
program the survey to crash or screen-out the
participant before the apparent end of the survey
although all the meaningful survey questions have
already been answered and the results submitted.
I am sure this has been the case with several long
surveys I have taken.
However, since I had been a member of Valued Opinions
for over two years, and I did successfully complete a
one hour survey for Valued Opinions for which I
received 7GBP, I decided that I would agree to take the
survey.
The 39 weeks finished a few weeks ago and I have been
withholding the submission of this survey to Yellow
Surveys until I received payment for the Daily Diary
survey.
I am pleased to advise that Valued Opinions did not let
me down – I received payment in full and I have now
received my shopping vouchers.
I have found it necessary to contact Support several
times; I always use the contact page on the website for
this since I prefer a written copy of my query and its
reply. Responses tend to be a little slow, and in a
couple of cases when I have submitted suggestions or
comments, I haven’t received a reply at all.
This perhaps is an area where some improvements could
be made.
I joined Valued Opinions in November 2008, since then I
have completed well over a hundred surveys and earned
140GBP. Survey invitations arrive in my Inbox quite
frequently and I qualify for most of them.
Valued Opinions (UK) offers many survey opportunities
to earn rewards both on the internet and (supposedly)
your mobile ‘phone, I recommend them as a very good and
legitimate survey site, their surveys are only medium
earners so you have to work a little harder and for a
little longer than many other survey sites but surveys
crop up quite frequently.
I hope this review helps you to decide whether or not
to join Valued Opinions (UK).
Thanks…
Allan

Comment: I joined Valued Opinions (Web Perspectives in Canada)
late 2010. Over this time I have withdrawn $270, not
too bad for 15 minutes a day.
This survey website is completely 100% legitimate. They
compensate through paypal, so you are guaranteed to get
your money and can deposit it right into your bank
account.
Below I have outlined some quick facts and the
positives and negatives of this survey website, to help
you make an informed decision of whether to join or
not.
Facts:
- I receive surveys daily (1 or 2)
- Each survey is worth between 100-700 points (could be
more or less, however this is the range I have
seen)
- 1000 point cashout threshold ($10)
- Payment can be made via paypal. They also offer gift
certificates and charity donations.
- Paypal Payment takes about 4-5 weeks.
Positives:
- Frequent survey invitations
- Fair survey reward structure
- Easy to reach 1000 point threshold ($10)
- Paypal payment option
- Other reward options including gift certificates and
charity donations.
- 100% guaranteed to receive payment via paypal
Negatives:
- Slow responding to emails
- Points are pending for weeks before credited
I hope this review will help in your decision on
whether to join or not.
If you are nervous or have any doubts about the
legitimacy of filling out survey's online for cash, you
can rest assure that Valued Opinions will certainly pay
you for you feedback. |

Comment: A little over a year ago, I would have laughed at you
if you told me I could make money online. But today, I
understand that the Internet just isn’t the same as it
was 10 years ago. Now, there are legitimate, safe, and
easy ways to make a decent amount of money online. Some
people get rich online – I’m far from that, but it’s
nice to see that it is possible. Right now, my online
ventures consist of running 2 websites, and
participating in online surveys. As of today, most of
my money comes from those surveys, but the revenue from
my websites is beginning to pick up. I’m a member of
10+ survey sites, but there’s only a few that I would
actually recommend joining. One of those recommended
sites is Valued Opinions.
I joined Valued Opinions a little over 6 months ago. In
that time, I haven’t had any major problems with them.
They’ve always paid me on time, and their website is
easy to navigate. I don’t get a ton of survey
opportunities from them, but I get enough to make the
site worth my time. One nice thing is that Valued
Opinions does a good job of pre screening for surveys.
Instead of getting 50 survey invites a month and only
qualifying for 5, you’re given 10 survey opportunities
a month, about 5-7 of which you’ll qualify for. Valued
Opinions is a quality survey site, and I recommend you
join it if you’re looking to make some extra money.

Comment: I have been doing online surveys to make extra money
for more than 2 years now. In this time, I have worked
with a TON of companies. Some were excellent, and
treated me fairly, while others were horribly
inefficient or even just outright scams.
I found Valued Opinions a little more than 6 months
ago. I’ve been doing surveys for them ever since, and I
am happy with the company. It’s not my favorite survey
company to work for, but it is legitimate and a good
site to join.
Valued Opinions has been around for a long time, so I
knew they were legitimate and would pay me. Their
survey selection is decent, but I am a member of some
sites that get a LOT more opportunities for their
users.
As long as I have been a member, Valued Opinions has
always paid me on time and in the right amount. I only
have two complaints, one being, about payment is the
options they offer. You cannot be paid in cash from
Valued Opinions – only gift cards. This would be fine
by me, except for that there is not very much of a
selection available that is suitable for me.
My main complaint about Valued Opinions is that a lot
of their surveys I do not qualify for. This is true for
all survey companies though. That’s not to say that
it’s not a good company though – Valued Opinions is
still a respected member of the survey industry, and if
you’re looking for additional sites to join, it’s a
decent option. |

Comment: I am fairly new to the world of online surveys, but
from what I learned from my friends and a few articles
that I read was that one of the most important parts of
doing online surveys is selecting the right companies
to work with.
When I first started, I pretty much joined every survey
site I could find. After a few months, I quickly
discovered that only a small handful of these sites
were actually worth my time. A site called Valued
Opinions was one that I decided to stick with and
actually use.
Valued Opinions is owned by a large company, and the
entire operation is very professional.
Payments are made on time, but the options are limited.
As of right now, you can only be paid in gift cards,
and there are only 3-5 different cards available at any
given time.
I wouldn’t say that Valued Opinions is one of my
favorite sites, but it’s definitely one I use often.
I’ve noticed that you will get a lot of survey
opportunities from Valued Opinions, but you won’t
qualify for a large percentage of them.
The only thing I really found annoying about Valued
Opinions was that you can complete half or more of a
survey, and then be told that you do not qualify for
the rest of it, and you will not be credited with any
money. To me, this is unfair – I think you should be
able to know right away whether you qualify or not, so
you don’t waste your time. That is not to say that
Valued Opinions isn’t a great company, however, so if
you’re looking for a new site to join, it’s not a bad
option.

Comment: I recommend this survey site if you are willing to wait
a long time - wait forever to actually qualify to
complete fully at least one survey out of say thirty
(and no compensation given for the other twenty nine
surveys that you spend five to ten minutes getting
nowhere when you don't qualify!); and of the very few
that you get right to the end, the money you earned
becomes a "pending credit" for ages before finally
being added to your current balance to be paid out.
Although it's a waiting game, for some reason I am
still holding on and have received a couple of rewards
although has taken a long long time to get there!!! |

Comment: First up let me say there is only one bad thing about
Valued Opinions and that is they don't pay cash or
paypal for their surveys.
How ever they do pay by gift certificates to some large
department stores such as Macy's and at the end of they
day it is pretty much the same as a cash payment to
me.
Valued Opinions sends me out about 5 to 8 surveys every
week, with the majority I qualify for. Payments are
usually around $2.00 to $5.00 and the length of the
surveys is quite reasonable for the reward they give
you for successful completion.
I've been sent 7 or 8 gift certificates to Macy's worth
$20 each in my time that I have been a member of Valued
Opinions, so not bad going in my book.
The surveys are always very easy to do and usually
pretty quick, there is nothing worse then being stuck
on a survey for 30 minutes or more, fortunately this
doesn't happen at Valued Opinions.
I hope this review proves helpful to the people out
there that are looking at getting into paid online
surveys as a hobby to earn a bit of extra cash every
month and if I win $50 or $20 for submitting this
review then that would be awsome to.
To put it simply, paid online surveys are great and
Valued Opinions is right up there as one of the best. |

Comment: I really like this site even though it isn't a survey
site that pay's paypal or a survey site that pay's be
check either for that matter, but yeah you have read it
right this site is really really good.
Valued Opinions pays be gift certificates and I don't
mean some crappy online code that you will never use
for a site you have never heard of, but they give you
gift certificates for major retailers both online and
bricks and mortar.
Minimum payout is $20 and easy to get to, once you have
filled out your profile surveys are sent constantly to
your inbox and range from $1 to $5 usually dependent on
the difficulty of the survey.
You have a choice of where you want the gift
certificate for, either Amazon, Macy's, Marriott,
Blockbuster, magazines.com and fragrance.net so as you
can see there is a wide range to chose from and there
should be something suitable for everybody within those
retailers.
So once again, Valued Opinions, sends out plenty of
surveys, ranging from $1 to $5, minimum payment is $20
which is easy to get to and payment is paid by gift
vouchers to any of the major retailers listed above.
Well and truly worth joining. |

Comment: This site rocks! I've been a member of this site for
about 2 years now and I am very impressed with how
often surveys are sent out and the money paid for them,
it is like earning free cash online in my opinion.
Valued Opinions sends me out numerous online surveys
each week and I think a good 75% of them I qualify for,
not only that 1 of the surveys I did then invited me to
do a 45 minute taste testing session on beer. This paid
me $75, to drink beer and fill out a survey on what I
thought of it, truth be told I would have done this for
free.
This site pays out gift certificates, I use these to do
my grocery shopping so it is just the same as cash to
me.
A highly recommended site, which I think anyone that is
looking to get paid to do surveys online, should join
the site and try it out for them selves. |

Comment: I recommend this site if you like gift-ceritficates. I
been with them for 3 months now and already cashed out
twice. I got 2 20$ amazon gift certificates. Surveys
are pretty frequent ranging from 1-5$ sometimes 10+ in
special surveys. Currently, they are not paying pay-pal
or check so it's a little bummer but overall a nice
survey site to do ecp if you wanna give gift
ceritifcates to your freinds/family for they're b-day
etc... |
